strange – adjective strānj different from what is usual, ordinary or expected
It’s been said that we’re living in strange times, but we think there’s a little more to it than that.
Beyond strange, we’re living in confusing and contradicting times, and it’s hard not to feel fatigued and stressed out by all the things we just don’t know. In many ways, we’ve become disenchanted by the isolation of the last two years, living more and more of our lives through the tiny computers we carry in our pockets than in real life, and spending more time being angry with each other online than communing together in joy.
Whether flicking through news channels or doom scrolling Instagram, the narratives we are fed about the world around us clash and create friction, online and in our communities. This is on top of what we already know about social media: it’s not exactly beneficial to our mental, physical, and emotional health, because it encourages perfection while distorting perception.
We believe that to be truly strange in today’s world is to slow down, take time away from the noise, re-connect with ourselves and each other, and remember what it means to thrive. To be out of the ordinary is to find our way back from instability to a place that feels more centred. If there’s one thing we know and love about cannabis, it’s the plant’s innate ability to bring us back into balance.
Happy plants, Healthy people
For centuries, humans have been using cannabis to aid in thinking outside of the box, finding meaning where it might feel like there is none, and relieving pain and quelling stress. To put it bluntly, it helps us feel good, and it makes us feel happy.
No matter our differences, our desire for joy unites us. Our necessity for relaxation, peace, and community is universal, and cannabis provides us with a way to meet these needs even when the world might feel like it’s all too much.
At Strange Bud, we grow cannabis, and like other herbs, we believe it’s one that adds seasoning to life and all the things within it, from mundane chores to midday meetings and midnight charades with people you love. Cannabis allows us to find joy in all of it, so in a sense, we’re growing more than just a plant—we’re growing happiness. In a world where negativity abounds, Strange Bud demands to be different. We choose to be out of the ordinary.
Strange Bud is located in the foothills of Mount Baker in Sumas Prairie, Washington.
